2007 Christmas Festival
The 2007
Christmas Festival pretty much followed the same format as the past
HCC Christmas events. Keith Hamilton provided the
transportation for another caroling adventure through town. Of
course, Jack and Ann Joyce didn't forget the chilly carolers and
served their usual delicious hot cider.
Hyattville
community members as well as guests from Ten Sleep, Manderson,
Basin, and Thermopolis attended the Christmas celebration.
Everyone enjoyed chili soup and other snacks.
Lin Doyle
served as the leader for the "Twelve Days of Christmas" song singing
this year. He added a new flair to the song by having the
various groups first sing the verses in the reverse order starting
with Day 12 and working their way back to Day 1. After that
challenge was complete, the group sang the song in the usual order.
Lin also asked that the caroling participants form an impromptu
group and sing a couple of songs that had been sung as they caroled
through Hyattville earlier in the evening. The group's
rendition of "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer" was a hit with the
crowd.
A visit from
the man from the North Pole followed the singing. Even some of
the "big kids" enjoyed a chance to tell Santa what they wanted for
Christmas.
Following are
pictures taken during the event. If anyone else has pictures
they'd like to contribute to the slide shows, please contact Linda
